As we’re on the verge of entering 2023, here’s the suite of apps and websites I use as a writer and teacher to stay organised and productive.

I used xTiles to create the image below, which gives you an overview of the apps and services I use most.

An overview of my productivity suite for 2023, created using xTiles.app

I started using some of these right at the end of 2022 (xTiles, Evernote, Google Keep, ChatGPT, Midjourney) so this really is a brand-new suite for 2023.

The very recent innovations within the world of artificial intelligence have had a significant impact on how I work and how I create content. For example, a couple of weeks ago I hadn’t heard of ChatGPT, and now I use it frequently to generate ideas, reorder information, add links to lists, etc. I also had not heard of Midjourney and now use it a lot to create images for stories and blog posts.

I’d like to know which apps and online services you use the most and which you’ve tried but didn’t like, and why.

We’re all different in how we interact with services and how our brains prefer to process and view information. A prime example of this is the sheer amount of note-taking apps available with many different approaches to note-taking and different UIs to suit different kinds of users.
